OUR STORY

1st Generation Family Business

After purchasing Paradigm farm in 2016 as a rundown dried fruit property planted with mostly Sultana grape vines and the rest planted to Gordo's variety grape vines. I ran the dried fruit business whilst working away in the mining industry for the next 2 years at a loss, while my off farm income payed off the debt after many conversations with lenders i could see that i wasn't going to be able to borrow more money to update the farm and decided to close the business but kept the farm. the next 3 years i started slowly clearing the old vines off the property and then in 2021 i decided to plant tomatoes zucchini cucumber and capsicum and grow organically to sell to local markets, at first it went well we started to get some produce then due to lack of knowledge in the organic growing we started to get insect damage on out produce and had to stop selling it. move forward to 2022 we grew our first small scale potato crop which went well we had a few hiccups with a pump breaking down in 40 degree heat and having to move sprinklers around for a week to keep them watered and also not being able to fertilise in that time we are now at the harvest stage of the first planting and they are yielding quite well so we will continue to grow spuds and add to the varieties of crops as we move forward.

ABOUT PARADIGM FARM

There are two paradigms of farming The modern farming/agricultural sector that is heavily industrialised and reliant on synthetic chemicals, GMO seeds, pesticides, fungicides etc....  that try to fight against mother nature

along with the industrialised new equipment and technology that replaces families on the land.

Then there are the farmers that try to understand and work with and around nature to preserve all the ecosystems that come with it along with bringing families back to the land.

So with all that said here at Paradigm farm I'm trying to work with nature as much as possible by using organic and bio-dynamic practices as well as beneficial bugs.

We intend to scale up the production slowly while growing a good customer base that knows and trusts in my practices & produce.
